Former town mayor Frank Warby has been elected back onto Bury St Edmunds Town Council.
Frank polled received 198 votes while Mrs Popham received 186 votes - it was still a little too close for comfort! But it is worth remembering that although we held an overall majority in 2009 we then lost that when in the 2011 elections Labour took control because all but one of their councillors being elected unopposed.
The result now means that as Conservatives we have regained control of the council for the first time in four years. We now have nine out of the 17 members on the council.
“I am delighted to be back on the town council and will do my very best to repay the trust that Risbygate voters have put in me,” said Cllr Warby.
